Wood plastic composites

Wood plastic or wood polymer composites (WPC) are new types of materials becoming increasingly interesting in non-load-bearing areas of furniture manufacturing and construction. In contrast to conventional timber materials, WPC can be formed with extrusion and injection molding.

WPC have superior moisture and dimensional stability, 3-dimensional formalibility and higher strength in comparison to pure plastics. Current developments are aimed at lowering the plastics content and better integrating the strength benefits of the wood fibers into the material composite.
